Jaffna Kings must be disappointed with the kind of tournament they are having. They did start their 2023 campaign with a huge win against Colombo Strikers but have managed to win only one out of the next four games since then.

Thisara Perera and his men have failed to sustain their usual consistent run as they lost three games in the season already which is happening for the first time in the last three years. As a result, the Kings are placed fourth in the points table with two wins out of their five outings in the tournament so far.

Coming on the back of two back to back defeats, the defending champions will be keen to turn things around in this match. They would like to repeat what they did against Colombo earlier in the tournament and come back to winning ways.

Colombo Strikers, on the other hand, have also failed to maintain a consistent run in their campaign. They are sitting at third position of the points table with two wins and two defeats. 

Colombo had a tough start to their campaign as they lost their first game against Jaffna Kings. However, they bounced back at the right time and won two of their next three games.

Riding on the back of a century from Babar Azam, Colombo defeated an in-form Galle Titans in their last match in what was a last over cliffhanger. Captain Niroshan Dickwella will be hoping his side will continue their winning momentum and add another important two points to their tally.
