'If You Waste Your Chance..', Ex-Player Warns Sanju Samson Ahead Of 3rd T20I vs WI

As India gears up for a decisive face-off against West Indies in the third T20I of the ongoing five-match series, former opener, Aakash Chopra has expressed his concerns over Sanju Samson's recent form.

Chopra's sends stern message to underperforming Samson

In a video on his YouTube channel, Chopra pointed out the vital role Samson holds in the middle order and highlighted the importance of grabbing his chances.

With Samson scoring just 19 runs in the first two T20Is, the pressure is mounting on the wicketkeeper-batsman. Chopra alluded to the emerging talent of Jitesh Sharma, who, according to the veteran, stands ready to claim the middle-order spot should Samson and Ishan Kishan’s woes continue.

"Sanju Samson - don't waste your chance. If you waste your chance, you will remember it later. It is not that if Ishan Kishan goes from the top, Sanju cannot go from below. Both can go and Jitesh Sharma can come,” said Chopra.

Apart from Samson, Chopra also turned the spotlight on Suryakumar Yadav. Praising Yadav's skills, the cricketer-turned-analyst pinpointed the run-out mishap in the last game, suggesting that the batter could have made a better decision in the face of a risky single.

According to Chopra, while Kishan might have initiated the error, the onus falls on the departing batsman.

“He should have said 'No' in the last match. It was a non-existent single. It was Ishan Kishan's mistake, in my opinion, but whoever gets out in the end is at fault,” added the Indian veteran.

Chopra also lauded the commendable performance of Tilak Varma who is playing his first international series for India. Occupying the No. 4 spot, the young talent has shown consistency and seems set to play a key role in the upcoming games.

“Surya getting out didn't really work out for India. Tilak Varma is playing well at No. 4, so let's not talk about him,” concluded Chopra.
