KKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan had an emotional reunion with ex-KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir at the Ambani wedding as the duo hugged for the first time since the former cricketer ditched KKR to take up the Indian head coach’s role.
Gautam Gambhir’s reunion with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lasted only one season as the ex-Indian cricketer prioritised his country over club duties.
After winning the IPL title in his first season back, Gambhir was approached for India’s senior head coach position, which he embraced gracefully.
A formal announcement of Gambhir’s appointment was made last week as he prepares to begin his reign at the upcoming Sri Lanka tour.

Meanwhile, since Gautam Gambhir quit KKR, he came face to face with co-owner Shah Rukh Khan for the first time at the recently concluded extravaganza wedding of billionaire Anant Ambani.
SRK and Gambhir attended the wedding festivities in Mumbai with family. While both families arrived separately, the duo met inside the wedding venue where SRK is seen sharing an emotional hug with Gambhir. The acclaimed actor also greeted Gambhir’s wife, Natasha and the trio were all smiles.
The heartwarming video is a reminder that Shah Rukh Khan and Gautam Gambhir have dealt with the new dynamics gracefully like mature adults. Nobody from KKR stood in the ex-cricketer’s way as he signed up for the national role.
