Karachi To Host Champions Trophy 2025 Opener
PCB with the International Cricket Council (ICC) is leaving no stone unturned in the build up of the Champions Trophy 2025. While striving to meet the expectations of the ICC, PCB added another feather to their cap by completing the upgradation of the Karachi Stadium on time.
There was a time when it looked like the renovation would not be completed on time but it was the testament and dedication of nearly 5000 workers who ensured its full operational readiness for hosting the Tri-Nation series and Champions Trophy 2025.
The Champions Trophy is returning to the cricket calendar for the first time since 2017. The defending champions Pakistan will come up against New Zealand in Karachi to mark the return of the eight-team tournament after an eight year halt.
The tournament will be played between February 19th to March 9th across three venues in Pakistan and one in Dubai which will host team India matches in the UAE. Before that the Karachi Stadium will host two matches of the ongoing Tri-Nation series, starting with Pakistan taking on South Africa on Tuesday, February 12.
