It won't be an understatement to say that KL Rahul has been India's best batter in the ongoing Perth Test match. He scored a gritty 26 in the first innings, but was controversially given out, but the momentum was carried in the second innings as well.
The wicket got a touch better when India came out to bat in their second innings and KL Rahul took full advantage of it. He, alongside fellow opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal took the attack to the Australian bowlers and had a brilliant mixture of aggression and caution.
The Indian opener played some delightful stroke, but the highlight was the straight drive to Pat Cummins which reminded fans of Sachin Tendulkar, who was a master of playing the shot. Cummins bowled it fuller and was trying to get the ball back into the right-handed, but the Indian batter was ready for the task.
He presented the full face of the bat and drove it straight past the bowler as the fans witnessed KL mimicking Sachin's drive.
India in driving seat after Australia got bundled out for 104
After a disastrous couple of sessions on Day 1, India have bounced back in style and are in the driving seat at the moment. Jasprit Bumrah, the Indian skipper ran riot and picked up a 5-wicket haul to rattle the Australian batters.
It was his seventh fifer in SENA countries, and second on Australian shores as the Aussies got bundled out for their second lowest total against India at home.
India had a 46-run lead and Indian openers, KL Rahul and Jaiswal responded in style as they nullified the Aussie attack with ease. At the stroke of tea on Day 2, India are 84/0 with a lead of 130 runs.
