Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's love story is not hidden from anyone, and over the years, their relationship has become a talking point for almost everyone in the country. It won't be an understatement to say that the power couple is one of the most beloved pairs in Indian entertainment history, and recently, famous director Vivek Agnihotri revealed a not-so-known 'Virushka' secret.

Bengal Files director reveals an old Kohli-Anushka story before marriage

The duo has been together for a decade now, and together, they are parents to two children - Vamika and Akaay. Speaking on The Raunak Podcast, Agnihotri spilled the beans on their relationship before marriage, and disclosed that Kohli used to come to Anushka's house to meet her.

“Anushka Sharma was my neighbour back then. We lived in the same society, we moved out and they must have too… but her father is still a great friend of mine," he said.

This was before the duo got married, but the wedding bells were ringing, recalled Agnihotri.

“Much before their wedding, Virat would often come to her house, to meet her. Children in our street used to go crazy. They would run behind his car in fondness. That is the only memory I have of him. I have never met him personally. Also, I am not too much into cricket, I never find time between my work. I have been busy," the director added, as quoted by News18.

The shampoo ad which started the Kohli-Anushka love story

The couple first met during a shampoo advertisement in 2013, and the two became good friends. The dating rumours circulated, and after almost four years, the power couple decided to marry in a private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, in December 2017.

Anushka Sharma gave birth to Vamika in January 2021, and three years later, their son, Akaay, was born. Now, with Kohli retired from Tests, and T20Is, the family resides in London, far away from the hustle and bustle of India.
