Among the latest to join his ever-growing fan base is Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who openly declared her fondness for the former Indian captain.

In a recent podcast, Rekha Gupta named Kohli as her favourite cricketer of all time.

Rekha Gupta Picks Virat Kohli Over Other Cricketing Greats

In a nation that has birthed World Cup-winning captains like Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma; and the likes of Sunil Gavaskar and Sachin Tendulkar, it is fellow batting great Virat Kohli who has earned the top spot in Delhi CM Rekha Gupta’s heart.

While speaking on The Raunac Podcast, Rekha Gupta was asked to name her favourite cricketers between Virat Kohli, two-time World Cup winning captain MS Dhoni and current Indian coach and ex-opening batter Gautam Gambhir. Initially hesitant to pick just one, Gupta eventually leaned towards Kohli, and also jokingly cited his association with Bollywood actress and wife Anushka Sharma.

When Will Virat Kohli Return To Competitive Cricket?

Virat Kohli confirmed his retirement from Test cricket a couple of months ago following his extended lean patch with the bat in the format. Currently only confined to ODIs for Team India, several reports indicated that he and fellow modern-day behemoth Rohit Sharma might well confirm their retirements from international cricket overall within the next few months.

However, a recent social media activity from Virat Kohli indicated that he is prepping up to face Australia in the ODI series later this year. The series itself will form a part of Team India’s cohesive roadmap towards the 2027 ICC ODI World Cup in South Africa.
