Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has sparked significant speculation about an imminent return to One-Day Internationals. Sharing a photo from a recent indoor net session in London, Kohli hinted at readiness for international cricket, his first such signal since the Champions Trophy.

While rumours had it that the Indian batting maestro was set to rest his case for cricket and bid the game goodbye since his settling down in London, Virat Kohli dismissed the talks with his practice session training, and a recent fanpage interaction only makes his return louder.

Kohli's Like On Fan Page Post Goes Viral!

Kohli posted a picture on his Instagram of an indoor training session last week. The image featured him batting alongside Gujarat Titans assistant coach Naeem Amin. Kohli captioned the Instagram story, “Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you."

This session, occurring amidst swirling rumours about the ODI futures of both Kohli and Rohit Sharma, was widely interpreted as preparation for India's upcoming ODI series in Australia starting October 19th.

The speculation intensified when a fan page reshared the photo, suggesting he was gearing up for the Aussie ODIs, a post liked by Kohli's official account.

Later, the fan page also posted the picture of his post on their story writing, "Virat Kohli liked my post". This activity follows the cancellation of India's scheduled ODI series against Bangladesh this month.

Kohli's Long Term Participation Still In Doubt

However, the long-term ODI participation of Kohli and Rohit Sharma remains uncertain beyond the Australia tour. A major narrative in Indian cricket focuses on whether the veterans can realistically continue until the 2027 ODI World Cup, where they would be 39 and 40, respectively.

A BCCI source addressed the uncertainty of the duo's presence, stating that Rohit and Kohli will inform the BCCI if they have plans, as before the England Tests, with the team now focused on preparing for the February T20 World Cup. This highlights the immediate priority of the T20 World Cup, leaving their ODI futures post-Australia open to conjecture.
