Pakistan Shaheens thrashed Bangladesh A in match number one to bag the opening points on offer this Top End T20 2025 season. Each of their top three batters clubbed whirlwind half-centuries, while bowlers Saad Masood and Faisal Akram picked up three wickets each in the second half of the game.

Nafay, Yasir Khan, Abdul Samad Electrocute Bangladesh A

Pakistan Shaheens batted first and mounted 227-4 from 20 overs. Opening batters Khawaja Nafay (61 off 31) and Yasir Khan (62 off 40) bludgeoned blistering 60s and formed a 118-run opening partnership in just 11 overs before both cricketers were dismissed in quick succession. Muhammad Abdul Samad at number three further piled on Bangladesh’s misery with a whirlwind 27-ball 56*, whacking five huge sixes in the process.

Captain Irfan Khan Niazi also clubbed a few big ones in his 12-ball 25 as Pakistan surged to a huge total. For Bangladesh A, opening bowlers Rakibul Hasan (1-43), Hasan Mahmud (1-34) as well as left-arm spinner Mahfuzur Rahman Rabby (1-39) all picked up a wicket each in their respective expensive spells.

Saif Hassan’s 57 Undone By Lower-Order Collapse

Chasing 228, Bangladesh A charged up to 92-1 in just seven overs courtesy of Saif Hassan’s blistering six-laden 32-ball 57. Opening batter Jishan Alam also smeared 33 off 17 balls after the early dismissal of Mohammad Naim to Ubaid Shah in the first over.

However, three-wicket hauls from Saad Masood (3-30) and Faisal Akram (3-19) skittled Bangladesh A from a commanding 92-1 to 148 all out in just 16.5 overs, as Pakistan Shaheens secured a comprehensive 79-run victory.
