Bollywood star Ajay Devgn and former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi are going viral on social media after images showing the two chatting on the sidelines of a WCL game. Fans, meanwhile, are outraged as tensions continue to boil between India and Pakistan.

The India-Pakistan match in WCL, scheduled for July 20, 2025, was cancelled on the day of the game following massive public outrage over the participation of Indian legends in a match against Pakistan, more so following the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead.

The backlash led several Indian legends like Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Yusuf Pathan, and Suresh Raina to pull out of the fixture.

Ajay Devgn Brutally Trolled Over Old Encounter With Shahid Afridi

Amid such rising tensions, an old picture of Bollywood actor and also WCL co-owner Ajay Devgn chatting happily with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has gone viral on social media.

Fans are criticising Devgn for being friendly with Afridi, who made anti-India statements on multiple occasions, especially during the armed conflict in May.

However, the actual truth is that Ajay Devgn did meet Shahid Afridi, but not during WCL 2025. The meeting actually took place last year, during the inaugural edition of the tournament in 2024 at Edgbaston, Birmingham. 

As a co-owner, he was present at the venue back then and interacted with several cricketers, including Afridi. However, as soon as the images resurfaced, fans mistakenly judged it as a recent click and trolled Ajay Devgn.
