Ahead of the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendukar Trophy against England in Manchester on July 23, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially confirmed that Nitish Kumar Reddy and Arshdeep Singh are injured.

Nitish Kumar Reddy Ruled Out of England Series

Young all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the remaining matches in the England Test series. He got injured while working out in the gym on Sunday. Scans showed serious ligament damage, which means he can’t continue playing in this series. He’ll now fly back home to recover.

Nitish was also not present when the Indian team met Manchester United players and staff on Sunday, suggesting the injury had already taken its toll.

Arshdeep Singh To Miss The Fourth Test In Manchester

Fast bowler Arshdeep Singh is also injured and won’t play in the fourth Test. He hurt his left thumb during a practice session last week while bowling in the nets. As per the reports, he needed stitches, and doctors say it may take around 10 days for him to heal.

This means he won’t be able to play in the fourth Test, and even his return for the final match of the series at The Oval (starting July 31) is uncertain.

To deal with these injuries, the selection committee has added Anshul Kamboj, a fast bowler from Haryana, to the squad as backup. He has already joined the team in Manchester.

India’s updated squad for fourth Test:

Shubman Gill (C), Rishabh Pant (VC & WK), Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Karun Nair, Ravindra Jadeja, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Akash Deep, Kuldeep Yadav, Anshul Kamboj
