India’s T20I vice-captain Shubman Gill was having a fun time in a recent practice session held at Canberra. While doing catching practice, Gill exhibited his desi dance moves in a hilarious fashion.

After losing the ODI series by 1-2, India will seek redemption in the upcoming 5-game T20I series against Australia starting on October 29.

The first T20I will be held at Canberra, and ahead of the important game, the team participated in a crucial practice session.

Shubman Gill dances his way in Canberra net practice

On October 27, Team India featured in a lengthy net session held at Canberra. Shubman Gill, India’s vice-captain, was sweating hard while doing catching practice.

However, amid the rigorous training, Gill also added his fun element by dancing and showing off his desi moves.

In a video captured by OneCricket, Gill shook his legs in a fun way, leaving his teammates and support staff in splits.

Meanwhile, the upcoming T20I series will be crucial for Shubman Gill. In the ODI series, he scored just 43 runs in 3 games with a lowly average of 14.33.

Since becoming the vice-captain of the T20I series, he has yet to prove himself, especially in overseas conditions.

Shubman Gill had an underwhelming Asia Cup 2025

Before the Australia tour, Shubman Gill last played in the shorter format during the Asia Cup 2025. He scored 127 runs across 7 innings at an average of about 21.17 and a strike rate of around 151.19.

Despite having one knock of 47 off 28 in the Super 4 stage against Pakistan, his overall consistency was questioned, and some analysts even placed him in a “flop XI” for the tournament.

Regardless, with India backing him as the long-term future, Shubman Gill will be given a long rope and eventually utilise his potential.
