Star Australian cricketer Travis Head has officially re-signed with the Adelaide Strikers for the upcoming BBL 2025-26 season. And he says it was “a very easy decision.”

The powerful left-hander, who made his Big Bash League debut for the Strikers back in the 2012-13 season, will continue to represent his home team for another year.

Travis Head stays loyal to the Adelaide Strikers

Speaking through a statement after putting pen to paper, Travis Head expressed his happiness and attachment to Adelaide, calling it “home.”

The 31-year-old said that playing at the Adelaide Oval always feels special because of the incredible crowd and atmosphere.

“It’s great to add another year on. It was a very easy decision to stay in Adelaide. We’ve had some awesome years at the Strikers, so I'm looking forward to contributing, depending on what my availability is like over the summer. It makes it so easy to sign on because Adelaide Oval is the best ground in Australia, and we’re really well-supported by the best fans," Head said.

The Strikers’ head coach, Tim Paine, who took over the role earlier this year, was equally thrilled to have Travis Head back. He praised the star batter not only for his match-winning ability but also for the leadership and energy he brings into the dressing room.

Head’s commitment comes despite a packed international calendar, including the home Ashes series starting November 21, 2025, and running through early January 2026.

His availability for the BBL will depend on national duties, but Strikers fans are already excited for even a few appearances from their hometown hero.

Head’s BBL stats for Strikers

Over his BBL career so far, Travis Head has scored 1,394 runs in 57 matches, all for the Adelaide Strikers, at a strike rate of 130.40, including a memorable century off just 53 balls in the fifth edition of the league.

Overall, Head’s re-signing is a huge boost for the Strikers, who will be hoping his presence, even part-time, can help them push for another BBL title.

And with his love for Adelaide stronger than ever, fans can expect some fireworks whenever Travis Head walks out to bat this summer.
