Former Indian Test captain Rohit Sharma is enjoying his time away from the cricket field, as he posted a relaxing story on Instagram. Rohit appeared to be on a shooting set and soaked in the lively vibe.

Rohit stepped away from Test cricket last month by announcing his formal retirement through an Instagram story. After India’s loss to Australia in the Border-Gavaskar series, pressure was mounting on the opener.

Hence, ahead of India’s 5-game tour to England, Rohit, followed by Virat Kohli, bid farewell to the red ball format.

Rohit Sharma Shares Glimpse Of His Retirement Life

A 19-member Indian squad is currently in Leeds preparing to take on England in a 5-game Test series beginning on June 20. While the young squad hustles, Rohit Sharma, ex-captain, is enjoying his time away from the field.

In the latest Instagram post, the opening batter shared a picture from what appears to be a shooting set. “Just Vibes,” he said in the caption.

While Rohit is relaxing, the young Indian squad, under the leadership of Shubman Gill, is up for a big challenge to face England. In Sharma’s absence, Gill has a new headache to find a reliable opener.

Since Kohli also retired, the no.4 spot is vacant, with Karun Nair, Sai Sudharsan, and skipper Gill himself being viewed as ideal replacements.

Joe Root Pays Tribute To Rohit, Kohli

England star Joe Root has paid a heartfelt tribute to Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, calling their absence a big loss for Test cricket. Root said the game will be “poorer without them,” as both legends have contributed immensely to Indian cricket.

“Cricket is poorer without them being around. They are two Indian legends. They’ve done amazing things for Indian cricket for such a long period of time. It’ll be a slightly different look to the series, but we still expect it to be highly competitive," Root told Sony Sports.

While he’ll miss the on-field battles with Kohli, Root believes their retirements open the door for new Indian talents to shine.
