In the 57th match of the T20 Blast 2025 held on June 17 at The Rose Bowl, Southampton, Dewald Brevis, famously nicknamed "Baby AB" stole a moment of brilliance despite Hampshire’s heavy defeat to Surrey. While the star had a brief IPL stint, he shone and it seems like he continues his form in T20 Blast too!
Dewald Brevis Blasts Santner For A Powerful Six
Facing left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner in the 8th over of Hampshire’s innings, Brevis treated fans to a stunning display of power-hitting. He launched Santner for a six on the first ball of Santner's over. Then, on the second delivery, Brevis unfurled a monstrous hit that left spectators in awe.
In the second ball of the eighth over, Santner pitched a short ball to Brevis straight to the stumps and Brevis rocked back and muscled it straight downtown for a flat six.

Brevis' Efforts Fell Short For Hampshire
Dewald Brevis scored 16 runs from 10 balls, which included those two sixes off Santner. However, his cameo couldn't rescue Hampshire from a steep chase. The home side were bundled out for 124 in just 17.5 overs, falling short by 69 runs after Surrey had posted a commanding 193/6 in their 20 overs.
For Surrey, opener Dominic Sibley set the tone with a fluent 70 off 46 balls, supported by a fiery 38 from skipper Sam Curran. With the ball, Chris Jordan (2/17) and Nathan Smith (3/18) dismantled Hampshire’s batting lineup.
