A slew of Bollywood celebrities is about to take centre stage in the upcoming second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show. As one can expect, the Indian cricket team will also have its presence on the show in the form of current national captain Rohit Sharma as well as several of his teammates who recently lifted the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies.
On September 14, a week before the launch of the second season, Netflix India released a nearly two-minute-long commercial on its social media platforms. The commercial features Indian cricketing stars Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Shivam Dube, and charismatic all-rounder Axar Patel.

Indian players like Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh are about to take centre stage in the upcoming second season of the Great Indian Kapil Show. In a short teaser released by Netflix on social media, Rohit Sharma can be seen playing a guessing game with Suryakumar Yadav, the latter seemingly mimicking the batting styles of several Indian players.
At one point in the commercial, captain Rohit even presumably mimicked the bowling action of legendary Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh.
Interestingly, the Indian captain also appeared in the show's first season, which premiered in March earlier this year. In a hilarious exchange between Rohit Sharma and Kapil Sharma in the recently-released second two commercial, the latter jokingly claimed that his show is a "lucky" platform for the national skipper, considering the 'Men in Blue' recently won the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies. Kapil Sharma said:
“Rohit, when you came on our show during season one, you were a runner-up in the World Cup (2023). This time you’ve won the World Cup. Do you accept, that we are lucky for you?”
Prior to the premier of the second season of The Great Indian Kapil Show on September 21, Rohit Sharma will lead the Indian cricket team in a two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The Indian captain and his teammates even began their training sessions in Chennai a couple of days ago as they brace themselves to face the visitors in the series-opener at the Chepauk Stadium.
