Rohit Sharma, the Indian skipper has arrived in Chennai for the first Test match against Bangladesh. The Men in Blue are scheduled to play a two-match Test series against the Bangla Tigers and the first Test will start on the 19th of September at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The Indian captain arrived in Chennai late at night on Thursday, 12th of September according to the video released by Press Trust of India on their official X handle. He is seen wearing a yellow jersey with security around him and is also seen taking some selfies with fans after sitting in the car outside the airport.

Along with Rohit Sharma, the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant also reached Chennai on Thursday. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, travelled directly from London to Chennai and arrived at the capital of Tamil Nadu at 4 AM on Friday.

Frest Start For Indian Test Team Under Gautam Gambhir

As players reach Chennai, all eyes will be on their preparation and performance after a loss in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Indian players are coming after a rare long break of more than a month and would be looking to get their act together quickly under the new coach Gautam Gambhir. This is India's first Test assignment under a new head coach and support staff, and it would be interesting to see the approach from Men in Blue against the Bangladesh team that would be high on confidence.

The crucial WTC points are up for grabs as well, and with the Bangla Tigers hunting down Pakistan in Rawalpindi recently, this promises to be an interesting Test series. Also, this is the start of a long 10-match Test season for Rohit Sharma and company, so they would be looking to come up with a strong performance and set the tone for the rest of the year.
