Rinku Singh's IPL Sixes Land On Amitabh Bachchan's 'KBC' As Question For Ghoomer Cast

During the recent episode of the popular quiz show, "Kaun Banega Crorepati" - the Hindi adaptation of 'Who wants to be a millionaire?' - the spotlight was thrown upon a notable moment from the 2023 Indian Premier League.

Amitabh Bachchan quizzed 'Ghoomer' stars on Rinku Singh's IPL showstopper moment

The audience was taken back to the remarkable performance of Uttar Pradesh-born Rinku Singh, who plays for the Kolkata Knight Riders.

The host of the show, Amitabh Bachchan, posed the question to the guests of the episode, the star cast of the newly released cricket-themed Hindi film "Ghoomer", which includes actors Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher.

They were asked, "Which Kolkata Knight Riders batsman hit five consecutive sixes in the final over of a 2023 IPL match?" The multiple-choice options provided were Andre Russell, Rinku Singh, Nitish Rana, and Venkatesh Iyer. Notably, the question was worth a whopping ₹6,40,000,


It was Rinku Singh's extraordinary display on the field that became the subject of this intriguing question. After his spectacular performance against Gujarat Titans, where he hit five sixes in a row, turning the tide of the game, Rinku emerged as a standout player.

During IPL 2023, he played 14 matches and impressively scored 474 runs at a strike rate of 149.53. His average stood at a commendable 59.25, with four half-centuries to his name.

While this episode brought a touch of sports to the entertainment-centric show, it was Rinku's recent debut for India in the first T20I match against Ireland that had fans excited. 

Although he didn't get the chance to bat in his debut, the cricketing community is eagerly waiting for the southpaw to show his talent in the remaining two matches.
