India Women's World Cup-winning star Jemimah Rodrigues has turned her cricket victory into a musical celebration. And this time, she’s bringing along none other than Sunil Gavaskar.

After India’s historic Women’s ODI World Cup triumph in Navi Mumbai, Jemimah took to Instagram to remind the legendary batter about a fun promise he made before the final.

Before the Women’s World Cup 2025 final against South Africa, former legend Sunil Gavaskar had joked on India Today that if the women’s team went all the way, he would join Jemimah Rodrigues for a song.

Now that India Women have made history by lifting their maiden Women’s World Cup title, Jemimah is making sure the moment comes full circle.

Her post quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comments section, begging Gavaskar to accept the challenge.

Notably, this wouldn’t be Jemimah Rodrigues and Sunil Gavaskar’s first jam session either.

The duo had previously performed together at the BCCI Naman Awards in 2024, when Jemimah strummed her guitar as Gavaskar sang the classic “Kya Hua Tera Wada.”

Meanwhile, Jemimah Rodrigues’ light-hearted video comes after a career-defining tournament. Her unbeaten 127 against Australia in the semi-final was one of the greatest knocks in Indian women’s cricket history, setting up India’s entry into the final.

Her calm temperament and fearless shot selection made her a fan favourite throughout the campaign.

Although she couldn’t replicate that knock in the final, scoring 24 before falling to Marizanne Kapp, her energy in the field and her role in motivating teammates were crucial to India’s 52-run victory over South Africa.
