After enduring a difficult Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season as the stand-in captain of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mahendra Singh Dhoni is completely out of the cricketing circle. In a recent video getting viral on social media, Dhoni can be seen celebrating the birthday of his friend-cum-tennis coach.

After the end of a hectic IPL season in 2025, where Chennai Super Kings (CSK) finished at the bottom of the table, former skipper MS Dhoni had to re-lead the side after an unfortunate injury to regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad.

Less than a month after the IPL, Dhoni has again made headlines on social media, as the recent video of him cutting the cake and celebrating the birthday of his tennis coach-cum-friend, Surender Kumar, is getting viral, where they are seen celebrating the birthday in Ranchi in the presence of friends and family.

In a video shared by MS Dhoni's tennis partner, Sumeet Kumar Bajaj, on his Instagram handle, Dhoni could be seen cutting a part of the cake, and sharing it with his tennis coach, where Surender is seen shedding tears of joy as "Captain Cool" ensures that he has the best birthday possible.

Further, it could be seen that it is a tennis racket-themed cake, where the former Indian skipper enjoys a piece of it.

To the unversed, MS Dhoni is an avid tennis player and has won multiple championships in Jharkhand alongside his partner Sumeet, as the duo completed a hat-trick of victories in 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively as they won in the men's doubles category.

As far as next year's IPL is concerned, Dhoni has kept the cards close to his chest regarding his return to the IPL 2026, as his fans await his future, where uncertainty blooms large. Previously, Dhoni has reckoned that it all depends on his fitness and how well he pulls up before the next edition of this cash-rich league.
