Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rise in world cricket has been nothing short of extraordinary. At just 14 years of age, the young left-hander continues to impress with his bat while handling fame with remarkable maturity. His latest achievement came during the Under-19 Asia Cup, where he smashed breathtaking 171 runs off just 95 balls against the UAE on December 12, 2025.
Suryavanshi’s knock included nine fours and 14 towering sixes, powering India to a massive total of 433 in 50 overs. Led by captain Ayush Mhatre, India registered dominant 234-run victory. The innings also earned him a place in the record books. His score is now the ninth-highest individual score in men’s Under-19 ODIs.
Along with runs, popularity has followed the teenager everywhere. Ever since his impressive debut season with Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL 2025, where he scored 252 runs in seven innings at an average of 36.00, Suryavanshi has become a household name.
According to Google search data, he was the most searched Indian sports personality in 2025, even ahead of legends like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and MS Dhoni. He is also ranked sixth among the most searched personalities globally.

When asked about this during a broadcast interview, Suryavanshi responded calmly and clearly.
"I don’t pay attention to these things. I keep the focus on my game. Yes, I do hear about these developments, and it does feel nice. I look at it, feel good for a moment and then move forward,” he added.
The broadcaster pointed out that he had even surpassed Virat Kohli in Google searches over the past year. Despite the hype, the youngster made it clear that fame is not his concern.
“It’s not my job to think about all this. My job is to stay focused and keep improving my cricket,” Suryavanshi said.
His performances across formats back up his words. In England youth ODIs, the southpaw scored 355 runs in five innings at a stunning average of 71.00 and a strike rate of 174. Overall, Suryavanshi has scored six centuries across formats this year, making it a season to remember.
