On Friday, December 12, the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 got underway in Dubai with India U-19 taking on UAE U-19 in the curtain raiser game. Eyes were on 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suravanshi as India were asked to bat first.

The southpaw didn't disappoint and extended his red-hot form for India U-19 by slamming his maiden century in the tournament. The 14-year-old slammed a ton in just 56 deliveries, which featured five fours and 11 sixes. Notably, for the unversed, it is the second straight year that Vaibhav is playing the Asia Cup.

Suryavanshi completed his century in the 21st over the match and right after his ton, he thanked god by folding his hands and looking in the air. At the time of writing this article, the star opener is already batting on 140 (79).

Suryavanshi having a year to remember

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is on a roll in 2025 as the 14-year-old is refusing to slow down. The southpaw started the year with a IPL century for Rajasthan Royals, which followed up with five more tons to his name.

After the IPL, Suryavanshi toured with India U-19 side to England and Australia, where he slammed a youth ODI and youth Test ton to further add feather to his cap. The 14-year-old has also scored a century for India A.

Recently, just before the Under 19 Asia Cup, Suryavanshi featured for Bihar in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT), where he slammed a century as well. Now, the recent ton in Asia Cup, marks his sixth hundred of the year.

Talking about the match, at the time of writing this article, India U19 are 233/2 after 29 overs and Suryavanshi's knock has put India in a dominating situation.
