Yashasvi Jaiswal pounded 214 unbeaten runs against England at Rajkot to take the Indian lead past the 550-run mark. Remarkably, the young opening batsman did so with much panache, unleashing 12 sixes in the process during his record-shattering knock.

While the 22-year-old drew much admiration from all over the cricketing spectrum for his six-hitting spree, the batting prodigy also seems to have won over hard-hitting radical and T20 legend Suryakumar Yadav.

Shortly after Jaiswal’s double hundred, Suryakumar took to X (formerly Twitter) and praised his Mumbai teammate by using an iconic quote from the biographical sports drama film “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story.”

Suryakumar hails Yashasvi Jaiswal’s six-hitting spree

Yashasvi Jaiswal belted 12 sixes, including three in succession off James Anderson, during the course of his career-best 214-run knock against England at Rajkot. The innings marked his third Test century, and the second successive double ton of his career.

India’s white-ball veteran and number one ranked T20I batter Suryakumar Yadav was himself taken aback by Jaiswal’s six-hitting marathon, as he took to his social media account to express his admiration for the youngster in a unique manner.

Using an iconic quote from the biographical sports drama based on the life of former India captain MS Dhoni, Suryakumar wrote:“Hum iss ladke ko jaante hai Shukla ji, bahot takda maarta hai!” (I know this kid Mr. Shukla ji, he hits very hard).

Yashasvi Jaiswal resumed his innings on Day 4 at 104* after he retired himself out of the crease owing to some back issues the preceding evening.

Shubman Gill also tallied 91 runs in the innings, while debutant Sarfaraz Khan listed his second half-century of the match with unbeaten 68. Their collective efforts ensured Team India reached 430-4 before captain Rohit Sharma opted for a declaration.
