Virat Kohli's historic game Vs New Zealand in World Cup
Talking about the semi finale clash, Kohli was at the peak of his powers as the former India captain delighted his fans and Beckham with mesmerising batting as he struck 117 off 113 balls. Courtesy of his knock and Shreyas Iyer's brilliance, India posted 397, which turned out to be a bit too much for the Kiwis.
Here's what Beckham said about Kohli after he reached the 50 ODI century milestone:
“It's just a real pleasure to actually be in this stadium and witness a piece of history. You know obviously, I've spent some time today with Sachin and I know what he achieved in this stadium and I know what he achieved for his country and the sport, but then to see Virat do it today. It is truly incredible. You can see the atmosphere at the stadium.”
Kohli will be next seen in action against the Australian side in the 5-match Test series, Down Under. He had an underwhelming series against the Kiwis, but will look to find his rhythm back against his favourite Test opponent, Australia.
