It is now officially confirmed that the highly publicised wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana with music composer Palash Muchhal has been called off. The move puts an end to weeks of silence, speculation, and online rumours.

What should have been a joyous occasion in November 2025 turned into an emotionally charged situation for both parties.

Dream proposal ahead of November 23 wedding

Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal had been in a relationship for several years and had made it public on social media. The composer proposed to her at the Navi Mumbai Stadium just after India's Women's World Cup victory.

Their wedding was planned for November 23 in Sangli, Maharashtra, and pre-wedding ceremonies had already begun. 

Friends, family members, and even Smriti’s cricket teammates were seen celebrating just days before the big day.

Smriti’s father was hospitalised on wedding day

However, on the morning of the wedding, everything changed. Smriti's father suffered a serious health scare and was rushed to the hospital. 

Her manager later confirmed that the wedding was postponed indefinitely so Smriti Mandhana could stay by her father’s side. 

But within hours, a new twist emerged. Palash Muchhal was also admitted to a hospital due to stress and health issues. This raised further questions and led to confusion surrounding the situation. 

Palash Muchhal accused of cheating 

Soon after, fans noticed that Smriti Mandhana had deleted all her pre-wedding photos from Instagram. Her close friends and teammates also removed related posts and even unfollowed Palash Muchhal on social media.

Then, on Reddit, rumours surfaced that Palash cheated on Smriti just a day before the wedding. But no proof was ever provided.

For days, Palash's family maintained that the wedding was just postponed and the composer had to be rushed back to Mumbai for treatment.

Wedding officially called off

Weeks later, on December 7, both Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal finally broke their silence. In separate statements, they confirmed that the wedding had been officially called off. 

Smriti thanked people for their support and asked for personal space. Palash said he has decided to move on and warned that legal action would be taken against people spreading false and harmful information.

While many fans are still searching for answers, the real reason behind the split has not been revealed. For now, Smriti and Palash have taken different routes, asking the world for understanding and privacy during such a difficult time.
