Since then, a series of events has surrounded the situation, leaving everyone confused and searching for answers.
It is important to note that OneCricket couldn't verify the authenticity of these reports, and the following is just a summary of all the events.
Engagement announced on Friday
A couple of days before the wedding, the face of Indian women's cricket, Smriti Mandhana, took to social media to publicly announce her engagement, in a now-deleted video, with long-time boyfriend, Palaash Muchhal.
The same day, the 30-year-old Indian singer shared footage of him proposing to the cricketer at the iconic DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. At the venue where India women secured their maiden ICC trophy, Palaash captioned the post, "She said yes".
Pre-wedding festivities begin on Saturday
The weekend started with the couple's pre-wedding festivities flooding the internet. From videos of Haldi celebrations to a friendly cricket match between the teams led by the groom and the bride, some mesmerizing scenes unfolded ahead of the big day.
Moreover, a stunning video emerged on social media, showcasing Smriti and Palash performing a perfectly choreographed dance.
Wedding day turns tragic
Smriti Mandhana and Palash Muchhal were set to marry at Sangli, Smriti's hometown. In attendance were the entirety of the Indian women’s cricket team, as well as the groom’s family and friends, including his sister, singer Palak Muchhal.
Just moments before the wedding rituals, news emerged that the wedding was postponed after Smriti’s father suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized as his health deteriorated at the venue.
Smriti’s manager, Tuhin Mishra, spoke to the media in Sangli and confirmed the news.
“Mr. Shrinivasa Mandana was having breakfast when his health deteriorated. We called for an ambulance and took him to the hospital. He is under observation. Since Smriti is so close to her father, she decided that till her father recovers, the wedding is indefinitely postponed," Mishra told the press.
Groom-to-be Palaash hospitalised after the wedding gets postponed
On Monday, a second medical issue added to the stress as Smriti’s fiancé, Palash Muchhal, had to be taken to a private hospital, according to a report by NDTV.
Palash’s sister, Palak Muchhal, posted a statement on Instagram Stories addressing the postponement of the wedding. “Due to Smriti's dad's health, Smriti and Palash's wedding has been put on hold. Would request all of you to respect the privacy of the family in this sensitive time,” she wrote.
As per The Times of India, on Tuesday morning, paparazzi videos surfaced of Palak visiting her brother Palaash at the Mumbai hospital.
As the families dealt with Smriti’s father’s sudden health deterioration, Palaash became very emotional. His mother shared that he cried so much that his health worsened. Admitting to the hospital, Palaash was given an IV drip, and an ECG was done.
At the same time, rumours of Palaash Muchhal cheating on Smriti Mandhana began to brew on Reddit.
Smriti Mandhana deletes all engagement posts
Amid the cheating rumours, Mandhana removed all pictures and videos from her engagement and pre-wedding festivities from her Instagram account. Adding fuel to the fire, her teammates, including bestfriend Jemimah Rodrigues, who had posted videos from the ceremonies, also removed all such videos.
Another teammate Radha Yadav, unfollowed Smriti Mandhana's husband-to-be on Instagram.
Did Palash Muchhal cheat on Smriti Mandhana with a choreographer?
According to Moneycontrol, claims that Palash Muchhal had cheated on Mandhana with a choreographer who worked at the pre-wedding gatherings started to circulate in Reddit threads shortly after Smriti wiped out her Instagram posts. A user said that "an unidentified woman had released flirty chats" between Palash and the girl.
Before being removed, screenshots were available for a brief period. Despite the unclear date of the conversations, some individuals asserted that the chats were authentic.

Along the same lines, as per the reports by 'BollywoodShaadis.com', a girl named Mary D'Costa apparently also shared her WhatsApp conversations with Muchhal. While it has not been confirmed whether these screenshots are authentic, the ones shared featured Palaash's name and ID, these claims are adding fuel to the fire.
Notably, as of now, neither Smriti nor Palash has issued any official statements regarding the postponement of their wedding or the cheating claims.
