Composer Palash Muchhal has finally broken his silence on the wedding rumours linked to Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana. In a statement, Palash confirmed that the wedding, which was earlier said to be postponed, has now officially been called off. 

He also strongly denied rumours of cheating and warned that legal action would be taken against those spreading false stories.

Palash Muchhal faces heat over statement on wedding rumours

For those unversed, Palash Muchhal and Smriti Mandhana were reportedly set to get married on November 24 in Sangli, Smriti’s hometown. 

Pre-wedding celebrations had already started. However, on the morning of the wedding, news came that it had been postponed. Reports at the time suggested that the delay was due to Smriti’s father being hospitalised.

However, later, some unverified gossip surfaced, suggesting Palash allegedly cheated on Smriti Mandhana. 

On Sunday, Palash decided to address the situation himself. In his message, he wrote that he has chosen to move on from the relationship and focus on the future. 

However, fans were not happy with Palash Muchhal for issuing a wayward statement. They blamed him for using PR and hurting Mandhana’s feelings.

That being said, reacting to cheating rumours, Palash Muchhal said these accusations were “baseless” and “unverified”. He urged people to think before judging someone’s private life based on gossip with no proof. 

He also revealed that his legal team will now take strict action against those who continue to spread fake and defamatory content about him or his family.

While Smriti Mandhana also shared a separate statement confirming that the wedding had been called off, she too did not go into further personal details.
