'Andhadhun' Fame Ayushmann Khurrana Likely To Lead In Sourav Ganguly's Biopic

The makers of Sourav Ganguly's biopic have apparently locked Ayushmann Khurrana as the lead for the movie, as the Andhadhun actor will be seen portraying the role of the former Indian captain in his upcoming film assignment.

Producers Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg's much-awaited project based on the life of former Indian cricketer and captain Sourav Ganguly finally has its lead actor. As per the latest update from Peeping Moon, director Vikramaditya Motwane has signed the Andhadhun actor for the movie as the lead.

Apparently, the makers were impressed with Ayushmann Khurrana's left-handed batting skills and thus deemed him a perfect fit for the role. Moreover, the actor is expected to begin his preparations soon, which include intense cricket training sessions and also one-on-one conversations with Ganguly himself to get a better understanding of his demeanor and his journey in general.

While the exact date of the initial shoot is yet to be determined, it is expected to go on the floor in the latter half of 2024 and be released sometime in 2025.

The biopic is expected to delve into various phases of Ganguly's life, from his early days in cricket to his captaincy, memorable victories, and his enduring influence on the sport in India.
