After 23 wickets fell on day one of the ongoing second and final Test in the two-match series between South Africa and India at Newlands, with pacers dominating the pitch, out-of-favor Indian batter Mayank Agarwal has garnered attention with his tweet.

The top-order batter took a dig at various British and Australian media houses, as well as former cricketers turned experts, who question Indian pitches whenever 20 wickets fall in a single day of a Test match played in India.

Agarwal's tweet elicited mixed reactions, but it certainly caught the attention of Vikrant Massey, famous for his role in the '12th Fail' movie. The actor liked Agarwal's tweet which indicates that many Indians resonate with the feeling that subcontinent pitches and especially Indian pitches are unfairly targeted when teams from other countries struggle on turning tracks.

In the first session of Day 1, after losing the toss, Team India took command with pacer Mohammed Siraj delivering an outstanding performance. Siraj's fiery bowling led to the Proteas being bowled out for a mere 55 runs, the lowest total against India in Test history.

The second session saw India's dominance continue as captain Rohit Sharma provided a strong start in their first innings, although they faced a collapse in the third session. Despite Kagiso Rabada dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal early in India's first innings, the Hitman looked in control, scoring 39 off 50 balls but falling short of a fifty.

Partnering with Shubman Gill, Rohit contributed 55 runs for the second wicket, while Gill added a gritty 36 to stabilize India after the initial setback. Left-arm pacer Nandre Burger then dismissed both Rohit and Gill in a fiery spell, engaging in early exchanges with Virat Kohli.

Kohli built a crucial 33-run partnership with Gill before Burger claimed the skipper's wicket in the 21st over. Burger further removed Shreyas Iyer for a duck, leaving India at 110/4, but Kohli and KL Rahul orchestrated a recovery. Despite Rahul's struggles, the duo added 43 runs for the 5th wicket.

However, Lungi Ngidi ended Rahul's difficulties by dismissing him in the 34th over, initiating a significant collapse for India. Ngidi's game-changing over stunned the Indian batters, leading to a historic collapse as six wickets fell without scoring a run, setting a new world record. India was eventually bundled out for 153 runs in response to South Africa's first-innings total of 55 runs.

In their second innings, South Africa lost three wickets for 62 runs, with Aiden Markram standing strong at 36* and David Bedingham unbeaten on 7, trailing by 36 runs with seven wickets in hand.
