Viral Pakistan Journalist Trolls India's Sub-Par Batting In Cape Town Test

The second Test match between high-profile Test-playing nations India and South Africa went on the floor yesterday at the Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town.

Deal Elgar, the stand-in captain for his farewell test, opted to bat first after winning the coin flip contest. However, Mohammed Siraj unleashed carnage with the ball to claim a six-wicket haul and restricted the Proteas to a lowly score of 55 in the first innings.

Despite a brave performance, the Indians, not even in their wildest dream, could have imagined what unfolded next. South Africa fought back in the second innings with an ultra-aggressive intent.

However, in a shocking turn of events, India lost the final five wickets within two overs as six Indian batters registered a duck.

Meanwhile, taking a mickey at Indian batting's horror show, Pakistan journalist Farid Khan - who is pretty famous for trolling the Men in Blue on social media - didn't the moment slip as Rohit Sharma's team equalled the unwanted record of having the most number of ducks in a single innings in Test cricket.

Not only that, Rohit Sharma and Co. became the first team to have lost six wickets without having scored a run in a particular Test innings.

Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill built a 40-odd runs partnership in the middle after the team lost captain Rohit Sharma in the 15th over. However, once the visitors lost Gill, a series of Indian batters followed his cue, which led to a disastrous collapse.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and Prasidh Krishna were sent packing for a duck by the lethal Protea pace unit.

In another bizarre record, a total of 23 wickets fell on Day 1 of the Cape Town test between India and South Africa, which ranked fifth most in the list of most wickets clipped in a day in the history of Test cricket.

Nevertheless, despite an embarrassing show with the bat in the first innings, India will have to chase a paltry 79 runs to win the Cape Town Test.
