English cricketer Phil Salt has joined the popular “100 men vs 1 Gorilla” meme bandwagon at an expense of his RCB teammate Tim David. After the star Australian batter posted a picture of himself on Instagram, Salt compared him with a “Lion” and jokingly pitted him in the popular trending meme.
Both Salt and David are currently plying their trades for the RCB franchise in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. The two overseas stars recently return to India to rejoin RCB after the tournament was put to a 10-day halt by the BCCI.

“100 men vs 1 Gorilla”, a popular trending social media meme was recently put to a hilarious use by RCB’s English import Phil Salt. The cricketer jokingly pitted his RCB teammate Tim David in the “man vs beast” battle, after the latter had shared a picture of himself surrounded by lions on social media.
Representing RCB in IPL 2025, Tim David has minted 186 runs from eight innings at an exceptional batting average of 93. Moreover, the hard-hitting Australian has maintained a strike rate of 193.75.
Quite recently, he made headlines by taking a swim bath at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru amid heavy rains.
Phil Salt, on the other hand, has played nine games for the RCB this season, scoring 239 runs in the process at an average of 26.55. Maintaining a staggering strike rate of nearly 170, Salt has also tonked two half-centuries in the tournament.
RCB will now face SRH in their penultimate league game of the IPL 2025 season on Friday, May 23. The match will be hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
