SRH stars likely to be retained [Source: @iplt20.com]
A lot was expected of Sunrisers Hyderabad after the impressive last IPL season, where they reached the finale. However, in the ongoing season, the Pat Cummins led side have been a disappointment as they failed to reach the playoffs and were outplayed by most of the teams in the tournament.
It has been a collective failure for the team and many of their superstars are likely to be released ahead of next season. However, there are 3 such stars, who, despite failures are likely to be given another chance next season.
1) Ishan Kishan
SRH paid a whopping 11.25 crore to acquire the services of Ishan Kishan in the mega auction, last year. Interestingly, he started the IPL 2025 with a stellar century against Rajasthan Royals, but since then it has been a downhill for the former MI star. Post his century, he is yet to play a significant role for SRH as the team crashed out of the tournament.

(Ishan Kishan IPL 2025 stats)
As the stats say, in 11 matches, he has accumulated just 196 runs, and if we remove his 106 against RR in the opening match, Kishan has only scored 90 runs in the remaining 10 matches. However, in the last few matches, Kishan has shown glimpses of his former self and since SRH play in an aggressive fashion, players are bound top fail and the franchise is most likely going to give him a longer rope to justify his price tag.
2) Nitish Kumar Reddy
The Hyderabad batter was the winner of Emerging Players award in the IPL 2024 season. Hence, SRH retained him ahead of the 2025 season and despite getting a strong backing, Nitish Kumar has been a disappointment.

(Nitish Reddy stats in IPL 2025)
Just 173 runs in 10 matches and a strike-rate of 120 just doesn't justify his talent. However, SRH have learnt from their past failures and he is one of the best youngsters in the IPL and finding his replacement won't be an easy task. Hence, SRH should show trust in the youngster and with the backing of the management, he might do better next season.
3) Travis Head
One half of Travishek (Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma), Travis Head was arguably SRH's best batter in the 2024 IPL season as he took the league by storm. However, this season, not only Abhishek has disappointed, but Head, too, has been underwhelming.

(Head stats in IPL 2025)
Not bad numbers by any means, but since Head has raised the standards with his exemplary batting, 281 runs in 11 matches look bad. However, he is the glue in SRH's batting and the partnership alongside Abhishek is pivotal for SRH's success. The franchise needs him for the next season and they definitely should retain him.
