India young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal has returned home after being hospitalised briefly due to severe stomach pain. Notably, the Mumbai and India star was rushed to the hospital just hours after Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League match against Rajasthan in Pune.
According to Indian Express reports, Jaiswal started experiencing stomach cramps during the match itself. Despite the discomfort, he continued to play and contributed to the team’s run chase.
However, his condition worsened after the game, and he was taken to the Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad for medical attention. Doctors later diagnosed him with acute gastroenteritis, a stomach-related illness that can cause severe pain and dehydration.

The 23-year-old was given intravenous medication and underwent ultrasound and CT scans to assess his condition.
Thankfully, his health improved after treatment, and doctors allowed him to return home, as reported by Indian Express senior journalist on social media platform X. He has been advised to continue his medicines and take complete rest for a few days to ensure a full recovery.
This development is being seen as positive news, especially after concerns arose earlier. It is important to note that Jaiswal’s pain had intensified following the match, leading to his hospitalization. Fortunately, there have been no further complications reported.
In the match against Rajasthan, Jaiswal scored 15 runs off 16 balls while opening the innings for Mumbai. Mumbai went on to chase a big target of 217 runs and won the match by three wickets. Ajinkya Rahane played a crucial unbeaten knock of 72 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan smashed a quick 73 off just 22 balls. Despite the win, Mumbai were later knocked out of the tournament.
Notably, Jaiswal has been in fine form recently. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 145 runs in three innings at an impressive strike rate of 168.60, including a century.
It is worth mentioning that Jaiswal has also done well for the Indian team, playing a key role in India’s ODI series win against South Africa by scoring an unbeaten century in the final match.
As of now, Jaiswal have enough time to rest and recover before India’s next international assignments in mid-January.
