In a significant development, India's star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal was rushed to hospital on Tuesday night following an intense stomachache. According to a report, the Indian southpaw is suffering from acute gastroenteritis and felt the pain after the Mumbai vs Rajasthan Syed Musthaq Ali Trophy match.

A report from Devendra Pandey of the Indian Express stated that the player was having trouble throughout the game, and the pain intensified post-game, following which he was admitted to Aditya Birla Hospital. The doctors administered IV drips and provided immediate medication.
Jaiswal also underwent a few scans and an ultrasound and has been advised to rest best amid the busy cricketing season. At present, BCCI is yet to provide an update on Jaiswal's health status, but a report is excepted in the early hours of Wednesday.
Jaiswal escape missing key India events
Jaiswal, who was playing despite pain in the SMAT 2025 match vs Rajasthan, had a disappointing day with the bat and amassed 15 (16), which featured three fours.
Mumbai won the game but have crashed out of the tournament. Now, Jaiswal, who is not a part of India's T20I set-up, has adequate time to rest as there is no international event till mid-January, when India host New Zealand at home.
Jaiswal in fine form in December
Besides the recent setback, the 23-year-old has been in some touch with the bat in the month of December as the southpaw featured for India in ODIs vs South Africa, where he slammed his maiden ODI hundred.
Jaiswal later joined Mumbai for SMAT 2025 and shone against Haryana, where the southpaw again slammed a ton and amassed valuable 101 (50), to then keep Mumbai's hope alives to quaify for the next round in SMAT.
