With less than a month left for the World Test Championship (WTC) final, the ICC has revealed the prize money for the 2023-2025 edition of the WTC. As per it, the winner between Australia and South Africa will get INR 30.78 crore, while the runners up will receive a prize money of 18.46 crore.

The two teams, Australia and South Africa were the two best sides for the last two years and will collide in the finale at Lord's on June 11. The prize money of 30.78 crore is more than double of what the winners receive in the 2021-23 edition.

India, under the guidance of Rohit Sharma finished 3rd in the points tally and the question arises, how much money will they receive it?.

How much will India earn for finishing 3rd in points table

As per ICC, the 3rd placed team, India, will get a whopping 12.31 crores from the previous edition. At one stage, India were the favourites to reach the finale, however, back-to-back series losses vs New Zealand at home and then Australia away shattered their dreams as they got knocked out.

The road to finale for Australia-South Africa

The Temba Bavuma led South Africa became the first team to qualify for the finals. They won series against Pakistan, West Indies, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, and drew against India.

Meanwhile, the Pat Cummins led Australia defeated India, 3-1 to qualify and they also whitewashed Pakistan at home, 3-0, and won away series against New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The only series which they didn't win was the Ashes against England, which was a drawn affair.
