England batter Danielle Wyatt has made headlines with her latest move to UP Warriorz, clinching a deal for INR 30 lakh at the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 auction on Saturday. This marks a significant turnaround for Wyatt, who previously faced disappointment after being overlooked in the inaugural edition of the WPL.

Wyatt, known for her dynamic batting, recently showcased her brilliance in the T20I series against India Women, scoring an impressive 75 runs from just 47 balls. Her innings, studded with two sixes and eight boundaries, propelled England Women to a commanding 38-run victory in the series opener.

Expressing her excitement about joining UP Warriorz, Wyatt took to social media, stating, “Cannot wait for this.”

The seasoned opener's addition to UP Warriorz is expected to bring new dynamism to the team, reflecting her proven track record and consistent performance in women's cricket.

It is worth mentioning that Wyatt's anticipation reflected a dream fulfilled, contrasting sharply with her earlier sentiment when she missed out on the first WPL, where she had expressed her heartbreak but congratulated those who were picked.

Meanwhile, earlier in the year, Wyatt's explosive batting was on full display in The Hundred Women's tournament. She emerged as the top run-scorer, scoring 295 runs across nine games at an impressive strike rate of 141.14. Her performance, including three half-centuries, was instrumental in leading Southern Brave Women to victory over Trent Rockets in the final.

Wyatt's cricketing journey also includes notable Women's Big Bash League stints, showcasing her versatility and skill across formats. In her T20I career, she has scored 2,602 runs in 150 matches, striking at 127.42, including two centuries and 13 fifties.

Fans will be eagerly awaiting Wyatt's next appearance in the second T20I between India and England at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium.
