In a significant development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the schedule for the upcoming ODI World Cup today. As per the schedule, 10 teams will battle it out in 48 matches, including the playoffs, across ten venues for the decorated World Cup trophy.

The teams finishing first and fourth in the group stage will take on each other in semifinal 1 in Mumbai, with those placed second and third clashing in semifinal 2 in Kolkata.

However, Pakistan will play their semifinal encounter in Kolkata, even if they finish first or fourth in the group-stage points table.

As per a video released by renowned media house SportsTak, Pakistan, upon finishing in the top four of the group-stage standings, will play their semifinal game in Kolkata, considering Mumbai as an unsafe venue for their team. So, in case they meet India in the semifinal, the game will be hosted by the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

Talking about Pakistan, the Babar Azam-led outfit will kickstart their World Cup campaign against two qualifying teams in Hyderabad before taking on arch-rivals India in a high-voltage face-off in Ahmedabad. Their nine group-stage fixtures are spread across five venues- Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
