Will Kohli And Rohit Play World Cup In 2027? Head Coach Gautam Gambhir Answers
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two of the greatest players to have played the game. The two have created a legacy unmatched by others, and they further cemented their legacy by winning the T20 World Cup in USA/West Indies.
However, in a shocking turn of events, both the champion cricketers announced their retirements from T20Is, speculating that the end is near in the other two formats as well.

When the ODI squad for the Sri Lanka tour was set to be announced, it was rumoured that the two cricketers will extend their break post the T20 WC win, however, both Kohli and Rohit did make a comeback and were included in the squad.
Ahead of Team India's departure for the series, new head coach, Gautam Gambhir and chief selector, Ajit Agarkar held a press conference, wherein Gambhir praised the two veteran cricketers and also talked about their future.
"Both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have lots of cricket left. They are world class. Any team would have both of them. There is the Champions Trophy, Australia series, then if fitness goes well then the 2027 World Cup."
Kohli, and Rohit last played an ODI match during the 2023 World Cup, and since then have only featured in Tests and T20Is.
The ODI leg of the Sri Lanka tour commences from August 2.
