BCCI Announces Revised Schedule For India's Tour Of Sri Lanka 2024

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have unveiled a revised schedule for India’s upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. The Indian cricket team is slated to tour the island nation in the final week of July for a series of three T20Is and as many ODI matches.

As per the revised schedule, each of the three T20Is and the first ODI match have been pushed back by a day. 

While the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium will host the entirety of T20I series, the action will subsequently shift to the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo for the ODI segment of the tour.

Revised schedule for India tour of Sri Lanka 2024

The Indian cricket team is scheduled to travel to Sri Lanka towards July end to play three T20Is and three ODI matches against the hosts. As per the revised schedule, the tour will commence with the first T20I on July 27, as opposed to the initial planned date of July 26.

Each of the subsequent three matches, including the first ODI, have been pushed back by a date to July 28, July 30 and August 2 respectively. 

The final two ODIs of the series will be played as per the original schedule dates of August 4 and August 7. Here’s a detailed look at the entire revised itinerary of India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka:

As per reports, the Indian cricket team will travel to Sri Lanka in the absence of several senior players like Virat Kohli, regular captain Rohit Sharma and fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. 

The series will also mark Gautam Gambhir’s first international assignment as Team India’s head coach, and he will be assisted by Hardik Pandya as captain.
