Mohammed Shami has revealed his favourite Indian bowler at the moment, and interestingly, it is not Jasprit Bumrah.

Bumrah, has certainly been India's standout bowler since his international debut in 2016. Across formats, he has tormented the batters, and was also India's MVP during the recently concluded T20 World Cup.


Shami names India's best bowler currently

However, despite all the accolades achieved by the Indian speedster, Shami feels that Bumrah is not the best Indian bowler, but he mentioned himself as the best in the country.

“Abhi? Main he manta hoon," Shami said when asked, “India ka sabse behtar bowler kaun?" by Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel.

He further added: “Humari jo unit rahi hai, mai, Jassi (Bumrah), Ishant bhi usme tha, Bhuvneshwar bhi usme tha, Umesh Yadav. Jo ye 5-6 the naa hum ek saath, mujhe lagta hai duniya ki kisi unit ne itna enjoy nahi kiya hoga jo is unit ne kiya hai. Main to maanta hoon.. main 1 or No. 2 pe believe nahi karta. As a person, as a sportsman, as a unit, jo meri life mei ye 5-6 logo ki unit bani thi na one of the best thi."

Shami, last played for India during the World Cup in 2023. However, he suffered from a heel injury and underwent an operation on the same. Recently he shared a video on Instagram, showcasing his recovery from the injury.
