Rohit, Virat Kohli Return; Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul Back In India's Squad For Sri Lanka ODIs

In a significant development, the BCCI on Thursday (July 18) recalled Shreyas Iyer in their 15-member squad for the upcoming Sri Lanka ODIs. The KKR captain has been chosen to get back the call by Gautam Gambhir, who is all set to begin his new chapter as India's head coach.
Along with the news, India will also have Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in their squad. While Rohit will captain the squad, Shubman Gill will be his deputy. In addition, KL Rahul will also be back, while Rishabh Pant has kept his place in the squad as well.

No Jadeja; Dube Plays In Hardik's Absence
Notably, Shivam Dube has also found a place, particularly as a replacement for Hardik Pandya, who has also taken a break from the 50-over format. Riyan Parag, Washington Sundar, and Khaleel Ahmed, who played impressively under Gill in the recent Zimbabwe T20Is, have also made the cut.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja has not found a place for himself.
Among bowlers, Harshit Rana, one of the emerging sensations for KKR in IPL 2024, found a place in the squad as well. He will play in the pace attack led by Arshdeep Singh and Mohammed Siraj, while Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav will lead the spin department.
