The fans have to wait a bit more to get a clarity over the suspense around Champions Trophy 2025 as the emergency meeting between ICC, PCB, and BCCI has been adjourned for the second day in a row. Notably, the two boards were set to meet virtually to come to a consensus regarding the hosting rights of the prestigious fifty-over tournament, but the BCCI has asked for more time.

It is worth noting that there were reports that BCCI has asked for a hybrid model and want India matches to be held in Dubai. Further, the PCB is adamant on hosting the tournament entirely in Pakistan. The report added that all the board members supported India and now the ball is in Pakistan's court to decided whether to accept the hybrid model or lose the hosting rights entirely.

Now since the BCCI has asked for more time, a section of fans think that BCCI might bow down to PCB's demands. However, this news can also be a bad news for Pakistan. Here is how.

Jay Shah To Start Tenure As ICC Chairman On December 1

It is worth noting that the next meeting between PCB, BCCI, and ICC will take place in the next one or two days, but current BCCI secretary Jay Shah will don a new hat and start his tenure as ICC chairman from December 1.

On Friday, November 29, outgoing ICC chairman Greg Barclay delivered his final speech, and from tomorrow, Sunday, Jay Shah, who was elected as next ICC chairman, unopposed, will start his tenure.

It is a sign of concern for Pakistan, as the decision regarding the Champions Trophy 2025 will then come under Jay Shah's directives. However, it is still to be seen whether the final decision on Champions Trophy will be of Greg Barcley or Shah will also have a say in the decision making as ICC chairman.
