After trying his hands at reverse laps and sweeps since the 'Bazball' era, Joe Root was now extraordinarily seen batting left-handed in the England nets ahead of the second Test against India in Visakhapatnam, starting February 2.

The great right-hander amusingly took the stance of a left-hander while facing the tweakers in the nets before indulging in an adventurous reverse sweep from there as a mark of a surprise weapon in his tank waiting to be unleashed at Rohit Sharma's men.

The viral clip of Joe Root batting left-handed was posted on Twitter this Wednesday (January 31) afternoon by Telegraph journalist Will Macpherson and shocked the cricket lovers who have known the great batter for his solidity and classical style at the crease.

Taking on the tweakers provided in the nets to England for their practice duties, Root unwillingly gave away a new trick up his sleeves when he was captured by Macpherson batting left-handed for a reverse sweep.

Multiple visiting players have over time tried various tricks to try and thwart the incredible threat posed by premier India spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, but never anyone has tried completely altering the dominant batting hand to counter the legendary bowler.

Root could be the one as with Bazball fans have come to expect the unexpected. The right-hander has anyway embraced the laps and sweeps with amazing open-mindedness and courage. He can now try and bat left-handed also to upstage the Indian spinners after missing out in the first game.

Root may have put his fantastic off-breaks to use and bagged five wickets in England's remarkable triumph but the elegant player would know his output with the bat is of utmost importance for the tourists to keep the hosts under pressure going forward.
