Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal survived a major medical scare on board an Indigo flight from Agartala to Delhi after an unidentified liquid consumption led to serious side effects. Meanwhile, Agarwal took to social media to share the latest update on his health.

Mayank Agarwal and the rest of the Karnataka domestic cricket team were scheduled to board a flight to Surat from Agartala on Tuesday after triumphing over Tripura in the Ranji Trophy game a day earlier. They had a game against Railways scheduled at Surat from Friday this week.

However, Mayank suffered a serious medical emergency onboard. After boarding the Indigo flight, the batter consumed toxic liquid, assuming water, and the first sip led to serious discomfort. He immediately spat out the liquid but witnessed no respite. After Agarwal suffered redness and a burning sensation in his throat, the team manager de-boarded the plane and rushed him to the nearest hospital in Agartala.

Mayank Agarwal was reportedly admitted to ICU and kept under 24-hour observation. However, fortunately, the batter survived and was declared stable and out of danger by the hospital authorities.

Meanwhile, amid an uproar on social media over his health concern, the Karnataka batter shared health updates via his official social media handle. He shared a picture of himself from a hospital bed and confirmed that he was feeling better. Agarwal thanked fans for the love and prayers and promised to get back on the ground soon.

That being said, Mayank Agarwal has been ruled out of the upcoming fixture versus Railways. Once declared fit to travel, the batter will return to Karnataka for further treatment. As of now, an imminent return is not on the cards.

It's important to note that the Karnataka team manager has filed an FIR alleging foul play. He believes the water pouch has some cleaning agent residue, which led to the serious health condition of Mayank Agarwal. For now, the container has been sent to forensics for further investigation.
