Meet SRH Owner And SUN Group Heir Kavya Maran

Kavya Maran was born on August 6, 1992, in Chennai. She is the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and very prominent in the IPL world. She is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran, the chairman of the Sun Group, and Kavery Maran, the CEO of Sun TV Network. Hailing from a powerful family with ties to politics and media, she is also related to former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

Kavya graduated with a degree in commerce from Stella Maris College at Chennai and did her MBA at Warwick Business School. In 2018, she took over as the CEO for SRH, thus signalling a change for the franchise to a more youth-oriented leadership. 

Her presence in IPL matches and auctions has made her a popular personality among the fans and a favourite of television cameras. She also represents Sun Group's other cricketing enterprises, such as Sunrisers Eastern Cape, in South Africa's T20 League.
