Mohammed Shami, the star Indian pacer has been bought by SRH for 10 Crore. The right-arm fast bowler was one of the marquee players and recently made his comeback into competitive cricket after an injury layoff of almost one year.

He also missed the last season due to injury, but remains a quality bowler with a genuine wicket-taking abilities and it has helped him gain attention from the franchises once again. Shami can make impact both with the new-ball and at the death, but he has been most impressive in the Powerplay in IPL, and we can expect SRH to use him in the same role in the upcoming season.

SRH Defeat KKR In A Bidding War To Get Mohammed Shami

As soon as Mohammed Shami's name popped up on the screen, KKR began the proceedings with an opening bid of 2 Crores and soon CSK joined the battle. LSG came into the picture at 9.50 Lakhs, and then SRH also joined the battle at 10 Crore. GT did not use their RTM card and Shami was sold to SRH at 10 Crore.

Mohammed Shami's IPL Career And Stats

Mohammed Shami made his debut in IPL during the 2013 season for Kolkata Knight Riders. Till 2018 season, he could not play regularly in the league due to his injury concerns, but in the following three season for Punjab Kings, Shami bowled brilliantly and picked wickets at regular intervals.

He was even more impressive for Gujarat Titans and played a big role in franchise's success in the 2022 and 2023 seasons with 20 and 28 wickets respectively. Injury ruled him out of the 2024 season, and overall, he has 127 wickets in 109 IPL matches.
