Brydon Carse replaced Gus Atkinson in England’s playing XI for the second T20I of their five-match series against India. The fast-bowling all-rounder, who made his T20I debut for England back in August 2023, played just four T20I matches for his country before taking field at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on January 25.
Here we take a look at Brydon Carson in details as he faces T20 World Champions India at their own den.
Who is Brydon Carse?
Born in South Africa, Brydon Carse broke into England’s international setup in mid-2021 through an ODI match against Pakistan in Cardiff. A couple of years later, the all-rounder made his T20I debut with a match against New Zealand at Chester-le-Street. In October 2024, Carse also received his maiden Test cap during England’s tour of Pakistan.
Having shaped his early professional career at Durham, Carse joined the Northern Superchargers team in ECB-backed The Hundred competition in England.
While Brydon Carse played four T20I matches for England between his debut until September 2024, the cricketer was inducted back into the national XI as a replacement of Gus Atkinson in the second match of the January 2025 away series against India.
