The big news coming from Perth, Australia is that skipper Rohit Sharma has finally landed down under after a delay to join the Indian side for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as they are currently grinding against the Australian side at the Optus Stadium.

Rohit was at home to attend to his wife, Ritika, who gave birth to their second child a few days ago and delayed his departure. The team was in limbo over Rohit's availability for the first Test, with management clueless until a few days ago. Later, it was confirmed that Sharma would be arriving on 24th November to join the side, so he won't be able to partake in the opening Test.

India are scheduled to play a warm-up game before the second Test, and the regular skipper will likely take the field. In the opener's absence, pacer Jasprit Bumrah was appointed the stand-in captain, the side's designated vice-captain.

India Extend Lead In The Perth Test

After the horrible start to the first Test for team India where they were bowled out for a paltry 150, Bumrah-led pace attack roared back by demolishing the Aussie batting line-up for an even lower total of 104.

The second innings turned out to be the turning point in the game as the visitors, who were already leading by 46 runs, started extremely strong on the back of their openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (161) and KL Rahul (77), extending India's lead to 421 with Virat Kohli and Washington Sundar still at the crease with the score being 375 for the loss of five wickets.
