Mithun Manhas has been named as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) during its Annual General Meeting held on Sunday (September 28, 2025). The former Delhi player becomes the third ex-cricketer, after Sourav Ganguly and Roger Binny, to take up the prestigious post.

Manhas has replaced Roger Binny, who was serving as the President of the BCCI.

What is Mithun Manhas’ salary as BCCI president?

Unlike a conventional job with a fixed monthly salary, the BCCI president role falls under the 'office-bearer' category. As such, Manhas will not draw a regular salary but will be compensated with substantial daily allowances and perks.

According to reports by The Economic Times, here is a breakdown of his expected benefits:

  • ₹89,000 per day while on international tours representing BCCI.
  • ₹30,000 to ₹40,000 per day for attending domestic meetings.
  • Business-class or first-class air travel for official duties.
  • Accommodation in five-star hotels during travel.
  • All travel and operational expenses related to his role will be fully covered by the board.

Mithun Manhas: A cricketer-turned-administrator

Mithun Manhas was born on October 12, 1979, in Jammu and Kashmir. He represented Delhi in domestic cricket and was regarded as one of the most consistent performers in the Ranji Trophy over the years. Although he never made it to the Indian team, Manhas was a key player in the domestic circuit. In first-class he has played in 157 matches and made 9714 runs with the highest score of 205*.

It is also worth mentioning that Manhas had also played in the Indian Premier League (IPL): Delhi Daredevils (2008–2010), Pune Warriors India (2011–2013), and Chennai Super Kings (2014).

In the IPL, he has played 55 matches, scoring 514 runs at an average of 22.34 and a strike rate of 109.36.
