New president to Infrastructure committee: All official updates from BCCI's AGM

The 94th Annual General Meeting of BCCI was held on September 28, and many key decisions were taken by the stakeholders. The decisions ranged from electing the President of the BCCI to forming new committees, and in this article, we look at all the updates from the meeting.

New BCCI President Elected

Mithun Manhas, the former cricketer from Delhi, has replaced Roger Binny as the BCCI President. Rajeev Shukla and Devajit Saikia have been retained as Vice-President and Secretary, while A. Raghuram Bhat has been named as Treasurer.

The following members were elected as the new Office Bearers of the BCCI:

  •  President: Mr. Mithun Manhas
  • Vice President: Mr. Rajeev Shukla
  • Secretary: Mr. Devajit Saikia
  • Joint Secretary: Mr. Prabhtej Bhatia
  • Treasurer: Mr. A. Raghuram Bhat

Annual Budget approved and key additions to different councils 

The Jaydev Shah has been elected to the apex council of BCCI, while two representatives have been elected to the IPL governing council.

  • One representative of the General Body was elected in the Apex Council of the BCCI:
  1. Mr. Jaydev Shah
  • Two representatives in the Indian Premier League Governing Council were elected:
  1. Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal; and
  2. Mr. M Khairul Jamal Majumdar.

The audited accounts for FY 2024-25 were passed and adopted by the General Body.

The Annual Budget of FY 2025-26 was approved by the General Body.

RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha have been added to the Men's Selection Committee

  • Mr. Shiv Sundar Das
  • Mr. Ajay Ratra
  • Mr. R. P. Singh
  • Mr. Pragyan Ojha

New head of the Women's Selection Committee

Amita Sharma has been elected as the chairperson of the Women's Selection Committee.

The Women’s Selection Committee will have the following members:

  • Ms. Amita Sharma (Chairperson)
  • Ms. Shyama Dey
  • Ms. Sulakshana Naik
  • Ms. Jaya Sharma
  • Ms. Sravanthi Naidu

New Chairperson for the Junior Cricket Committee

Junior Cricket Committee was announced. The Junior Cricket Committee will have the following members:

  • Mr. S Sharath (Chairperson)
  • Mr. Harvinder Sodhi
  • Mr. Pathik Patel
  • Mr. Krishna Mohan; and
  • Mr. Ranadeb Bose

WPL committee formed; New chairperson elected

The WPL committee will have the following members:

  • Mr. Jayesh George; (Chairperson)
  • Mr. Mithun Manhas;
  • Mr. Rajeev Shukla;
  • Mr. Devajit Saikia;
  • Mr. Prabhtej Bhatia;
  • Mr. A Raghuram Bhat;
  • Ms. Madhumati Lele;
  • Mr. Sanjay Tandon;
  • Mr. R. I. Palani; and
  • Mr. Arun Singh Dhumal

Rohan Jaitley becomes chairperson of the infrastructure committee

The Infrastructure Committee will have the following members:

  • Mr. Rohan Jaitley; (Chairperson)
  • Mr. Mithun Manhas;
  • Mr. Rajeev Shukla;
  • Mr. Devajit Saikia;
  • Mr. Prabhtej Bhatia;
  • Mr. A Raghuram Bhat;
  • Mr. Anirudh Chaudhury
  • Mr. Sana Sathish Babu

Thus, there have been many structural changes in BCCI and the board would now looking to take Indian cricket to bigger heights in the upcoming year.
